i think this is the most popular image that was easily planted in our brains with the onslaught of media portrayals of a typical ‘gay guy’. Like the colors of the rainbow, it provides the other colorful spectrum from the standard norm that gays are known of - parlor squeeling fairies matched with a 2inch think make-up plastered all over our face. It gave us a lighter view of how pinoy gays live our lives. The film evolves around the characters comically portrayed by Albert, Eric and Lorna…simple, hilarious, poignant and yet serves its message…hot and spicy. it gave a different perspective of a Pinoy gay lifestyle set on local scenarios. Its way out from the ordinary gay film with a lot of dramatics and stories leaning towards AIDS and HIV by-lines. One pinoy gay film that i have enjoyed watching several times is a masterpiece by Joel Lamangan and Eric Quizon aptly entitled ‘Soft Hearts (Pusong Mamon) starring the deliciously tempting Albert Martinez, intelligently appealing Eric Quizon and great actresses such as Lorna Tolentino and Caridad Sanchez.
